Todd chronicles the life of New London Ledge Lighthouse, a unique local landmark, and presents a broader look at lighthouses and light keepers. The talk includes two short films about lighthouses as well as Todd's 2009 documentary film "Ledge Light." This film tells the story of the need for Ledge Light, how it was designed and built, the life of its keepers, its famous ghost Ernie, the light's deterioration and plans for its restoration. Various prints, posters, and copies of the Ledge Light documentary will be offered for sale after the presentation.
ANTARCTIC DREAM
This talk combines Todd's reflections on a journey to the Falklands, South Georgia Island and Antarctica in Januaruy, 2011. He will discuss why he and his wife ventured there, preparations, experiences and reflections.
As part of his talk, Todd will discuss the epic journey of Sir Ernest Shackleton and how it influenced him. He will screen a 10-miunte documentary about Shackleton, "ENDURANCE," which he created for the National Geographic Society.
The talk will also include a screening of Todd's 18 minute documentary film "ANTARCTIC DREAM."
